The Dazor company has been producing quality table lamps since 1938 when Harry Dazey teamed up with Washington University professor Albert Perbal. They came up with the design for the “floating arm” portable light which launched their manufacture of specialized task lights.

It was during World War II that Dazor lamps were used extensively by the government because they were highly efficient and cost less than the other lights of the time.

Dazor lamps were the first lamps to combine the technology of the portable task light with fluorescent light bulbs. The lamp was popular with draftsmen and architects who needed strong, sharp lighting for their work and this is what these lamps produced.
